    • Oovoo - an audio and video instant messaging client software that enables everyone to have face-to-face video calls over the Internet .
  • Skype
    • Skype – proprietary voice-over-Internet Protocol service and software application that allows users to communicate with peers by voice, video, and instant messaging over the Internet.
  • Pros Oovoo Skype
    • Can call up to six people with free version and twelve people with pro option
    • Available for computer, mobile phone and tablet
    • Embed video onto your blog, website or social networking site.
    • Ability to upload recorded videos directly to YouTube once recorded
    • Text or video chats, HD video, a recording option for saving presentations or interviews, screen sharing, and the ability to send files to other parties
    • Can call anywhere in the world
    • Ad free
    • Wifi capability

  • Cons Oovoo Skype
    • All features not available for Mac users
    • Audio can stutter at low bandwidth.

  • Features of Skype
    • Free version - video calling, Skype calls, transfer calls to other Skype contacts, caller ID, voicemail, send files of any size
    • Paid version – conference calls, transfer calls to anyone, Wifi (pay for time you’re online), voicemail, send files of any size, can call international from any phone (landline or mobile) at Skype rates
  • Recommendation
    • Although they are both video-conferencing and messaging software, they are different. I’ve personally used Skype and experienced drop calls and video freezing. I also experienced a security risk of my computer being hacked into.
    • I’ve had friends us Oovoo and they didn’t have any complaints. Both have pros and cons and it really depends on how your are going to use it.
    • I would recommend Oovoo just from my experience I’ve had with Skype.
