  • 2. Rate: is a ratio of two quantities that have different units.
    Think to yourself what are some rates you have experienced or used.
  • 3. Stand up right at your seat and give yourself enough room to run in place.
  • 4. Finding an equivalent rate:
    Lightning strikes about 100 time per second around the world. About how many times does lightning strike per minute around the world?
    A water pump moves 2 gallons of water per second. How many gallons of water are pumped per minute? Write your answer as a rate.
