Guardian Suspension
Slippage

Description of Issue
Friction fit assembly
– Square spring plate
needs to remain
stationary for
suspension to function.
Due to recent riser-bolt
tightness, operators were
instructed to add grease to
the top of the spring to
smooth out the cranking
process
Exposure
• Operators were instructed to add grease
about 3 weeks ago
• 594 suspensions have been built since

Long
Repair
Best Method:
Add Lubrication to
the bolt/spring
plate nut
assembly. Run
suspension up and
down several
times.
Friction in bolt
assembly
becomes less than
that in the
spring/spring
washer assembly.
Decide
• Alert customers of issue and repair all
suspensions in the field
• Do not alert customers of issue and repair
through warranty claims.
