• Addition is theprocess of puttingitems together and counting the totalnumber in the set.
• If we have 2 applesand someone gives us 3 more, we end up with a total of 5 apples.
• 2 apples + 3 apples1 2 = 5 apples3 4 5
• 2 apples+ 3 more apples 5 apples
• 2 apples + 3 apples1 2 3 4 5 equals 5 apples in all
• If we need 6 apples for a pie, we mightuse 4 red apples and 2 yellow apples. This would give us a total of 6 apples.
• 1 2 3 4 4 red apples + 2 yellow apples5 6 = 6 apples
• 4 red apples+ 2 yellow apples 6 apples
• 4 red apples + 2 yellow apples1 2 3 4 5 6 equals 6 apples in all
