What do you know about a sentence?A sentence is a group of words thattell a whole idea.A sentence starts with a capital letter.A sentence ends with punctuation(like a period or question mark). A sentence has a naming part andan action part.A sentence has the all the words inthe right order so that it makes sense.

One kind of sentence is called a Telling SentenceA telling sentence tells something. It is a statement. It begins with a capital letter and usually ends with a period.

Ben saw a little nest in the tree. Capital Letter Period The sentence is a telling sentence. It tells you that Ben saw a little nest in the tree.

The small frog is in the sack. Capital Letter Period The sentence is a tellingsentence. It tells you that the small frog is in the sack.

The red bird has five eggs. Capital Letter Period The sentence is a tellingsentence. It tells you that the red bird has five eggs.
