How it Works
Twitter is a pubic social media microblogging and messaging service but your tweets (the small message you write) must be limited to 140 characters
Before creating an account run a 20 Minutes tutorial http://www.viddler.com/explore/goldiekatsu/videos/58 /
How it Works
In order to use Twitter one must first understand the concept of FOLLOWING and FOLLOWERS
You can search the specific interest group and select any member and start following those people. You can use “Find People” option to locate the person. No permission required from other party to follow them
The biggest directory of Twitter users is available at www.wefollow.com . It lists and ranks users in different interest groups based on number of followers. You can also choose users from this directory and start following here as well. This will become your following
www.wefollow.com
Third Party Clients TweetDeck is a client that is really helpful in managing your Twitter Account
Search for Favorite Topics
TwitScoop is part of TweetDeck which gives real time hot topics of discussions on twitter
Another interesting search engine is www.monitter.com where you can put any topic which you like to follow and all real time tweets will start coming on your screen.
You can then start tweeting and make positive contributions of your interest and people will start following you. These will be called your followers

Guidelines For Use of Twitter
Always put your picture in your profile as people want to know with whom they are talking
Make sure your PROTECT YOUR UPDATE is unchecked in Twitter Settings otherwise you cannot micro blog publicly.
You may find some people making Tweets every 3-4 minutes and that may be annoying . In general one should limit his Tweets around 10 to 12 times per session and should have time interval of 5-10 minutes between each tweet.
In order to cover different time zones around the globe make it a point that you tweet twice morning and evening. You can schedule your tweets using tweetlater.com service
Guidelines For Use of Twitter
Be careful before writing negative comments or complaints about any company or person. It may bite back and hard for you to defend if you are not stating facts.
Your followers are not interested to your every day routine like you are going in a meeting or going for a walk. Please avoid these kind of Tweets.
Create two Twitter accounts. One to share your personal ideas and schedules with your friends and families and second for your busy views and discussions.
