  • Flickr project commenced 2008 to extend access to collections. Boutique items for interest. Put in place by hand. Cut and paste
  • A few items from National Library of Scotland’s Haig Collection of photographs from World War 1
  • A few images from the collection of Edinburgh Soutthside tenements taken by in 1929 by  Alfred Henry Rushbrook on behalf of the  City of Edinburgh Improvement Trust . They show tenements and shops around St Leonards area of Edinburgh, Scotland before buildings were pulled down and demolished for slum clearance.

  • We use the XML files for the page turner and also use them for Solr indexing. So we again are re-using. Solr is an indexing tool. It reads XML files and indexes them. It is very flexible in that it just needs but also a schema to define the fields.
  • Allows users to be more precise in how they tag their own photos. It’s an API thing It can be used to search for your photos etc They have a special syntax
