Pachelbels work enjoyed massivepopularity during his lifetime; hehad a large number of pupils and his music became a model for the composers of south and centralGermany. Today Pachelbel is bestknown for his Canon in D; it is the only canon he wrote. It’s become known as “Pachelbel’s Canon.”
