Earl Broussard and Tom Afflerbach began TBG in Austin, Texas in 1987. Articulating a distinct site character, Rooftop pools TBG created an entry design pivoting around a cobblestone flower with a Courtyards central, tiered fountain that features LED lighting. In addition, TBG organized Plazas Shade structures pools and a hot tub on the deck level to accommodate activity for all ages, Native plant materials blending plant materials with architectural elements to define the space. The site’s ornamental centerpiece is a boulder waterfall that utilizes lake water while its upper basins employ traditionally treated water. Through meticulous Interactive fountain consideration of circulation factors, TBG developed a pedestrian-oriented cityscape utilizing native plants as buffers for two tiers of circulation. By incorporating a common lawn, known as Central Park, stylized courtyards and interactive water features, TBG reinforced the initial storyline instituting this city center’s unique character and punctuating Market Street’s essential purpose. Granite Park III L O C AT I O N Plano, Texas AREA 20 acres YEAR COMPLETED 2006 SERVICES PROVIDED Landscape architecture PROJECT ELEMENTS Retail Streetscape Auto court Garage complex As the centerpiece of the 90-acre Granite Park development in Plano, Granite Lake Park III is a 14-story Class AA Office Tower, with 45,000 square feet of retail Lakeside court and adjacent structured parking. TBG developed a series of tiered lakes giving the illusion of a perch that gracefully elevates the building and complements the tiered water steps formulating the lobby’s forecourt. Fluor World Headquarters Building L O C AT I O N Las Colinas, Texas AREA 27 acres YEAR COMPLETED 2006 SERVICES PROVIDED Planning Landscape architecture Sustainable design PROJECT ELEMENTS Water features TBG provided planning and landscape architectural services for Fluor World Auto court Headquarters, which is LEED® Certified. TBG’s design preserved the site’s Gardens unique features by providing minimal site disturbance and revegetating with Courtyards LEED Certification native materials. Seaholm Power Plant Redevelopment L O C AT I O N TBG is part of the project team assembled to plan and design the redevelopment Austin, Texas of Seaholm Power Plant and its surrounding site in downtown Austin. A dynamic, AREA around-the-clock environment is envisioned for the site where residents and 7 acres visitors can live, work and play. The reuse concept for this Art Deco building E S T I M AT E D C O M P L E T I O N incorporates commercial, retail and exhibition space into an existing cultural Undetermined setting. The site redevelopment will include the erection of a two-story SERVICES PROVIDED commercial structure and a ten-story residential and hotel tower featuring Planning ground floor retail linked to Seaholm by an outdoor plaza. Utilizing the promenade’s prominent arch, TBG Plazas developed various outdoor rooms and provided for ample café seating to accommodate Promenades residents, patrons and office workers. The central plaza includes a spiraling water Gardens feature that creates an activated gathering and event space. Shangri-La Resort L O C AT I O N Cabo San Lucas, Mexico AREA 3 hectares E S T I M AT E D C O M P L E T I O N 2009 TBG developed a site plan and landscape design for Shangri-La Resort that SERVICES PROVIDED Site planning responds to unique site parameters while juxtaposing Asian and Mexican culture. Landscape architecture The location of the site amongst Cabo San Lucas’ sand dunes required creative building orientation and effective but reserved terracing to facilitate development. PROJECT ELEMENTS Resort hotel To ensure the design of a distinctive resort experience, TBG created a hybridized Conference center architectural vocabulary that fuses Asiatic garden design with vernacular elements Villas articulated by Mexican materials and plants. Each villa cluster is complete with Beach club private and shared amenities, complemented by lagoons throughout the site, Pools Plazas ocean front dining and a tequila bar. To achieve this, TBG incorporated reflective seating areas with an interactive outdoor café creating a cohesive and multifunctional space. The garden’s tiered wall fountain and babbling brook allow for peaceful meditation while a children’s amphitheatre provides space for active recreation. By incorporating six ecoregions encompassed by the 46 counties the Water features hospital serves, TBG articulates a welcoming communal identity in its playful Green roofs design.
