  1. 1. A corporation is a separate legal entity formed by documents filed with your state. Avery Trendel Block 3 <ul><li>Coca-Cola is an example of a corporation. </li></ul><ul><li>An advantage would be that they have a higher percentage of revenues </li></ul><ul><li>A disadvantage is that they are difficult to form </li></ul>
  2. 2. McDonalds <ul><li>McDonalds is an example of a franchise. </li></ul><ul><li>An advantage of franchising is you are able to expand business using the investments of others </li></ul><ul><li>A disadvantage is that you have to pay a fee in order to franchise. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Dominos Pizza <ul><li>Dominos is another franchise. </li></ul>

Mission Statements <ul><li>The purpose of a mission statement is to state the reason a business exists and what it wants to achieve </li></ul><ul><li>Google’s original mission statement was Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Goals? <ul><li>It is important to set long term and short term goals for your employees because that way they know what needs to be accomplished and will shoot for that. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Company Procedures <ul><li>Common company procedures are descriptions of the way work is to be done. </li></ul><ul><li>Procedures at a typical school would include </li></ul><ul><li>Explaining your answers </li></ul><ul><li>Working quietly </li></ul><ul><li>Work efficiently </li></ul>
  7. 7. Organization Chart <ul><li>An organization chart is a diagram that shows the structure of an organization. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Differences? <ul><li>A functional organization structure has people working in one function with little interaction with people in other parts of the business. </li></ul><ul><li>A matrix organizational structure involves working together and can be fun and interesting. </li></ul>
