  • What is NAFTA?
    • NAFTA is the North American Free Trade Association
    • Mexico, Canada, and The United States are involved with this.
    • It began in 1993.
  • Advantages of NAFTA
    • Allows each country to specialize and be more efficient.
    • Opens up the Mexican market.
    • Access to a pool of relatively cheap labor.
  • Disadvantages of NAFTA
    • Potential loss of jobs
    • Environmental problems
    • Hidden Costs
  • International Companies that sell to the US
    • Toyota
    • Nintendo
    • Ferrari
  • Wal-Mart
    • Wal-Mart does business with 14 countries outside of the United States
    • Wal-Mart operates in Mexico as Walmex.
    • In Japan it is called Seiyu
    • The UK calls it ASDA
