  • Thanks Tatiana.Welcome everyone. Let’s kick things off by taking a quick look at what we’ll be covering today:- We’ll begin with a brief backgrounder on Tradeshift to set some context - Then we’ll move into a discussion of what today’s workflow solutions look like and what some of their limitation might be- From there we’ll talk about how we think our approach here at Tradeshift is a bit different, and how we’ve taken a fresh perspective on things.- Next I’ll hand things over to Mihir who will walk through some of the key features, talk about some use scenarios of workflow, and finish up with a demonstration- And if everything goes according to plan, we’ll have plenty of room for your questions at the end
  • For those of you not familiar with Tradeshift let’s begin with a quick introduction - We talk about Tradeshift as a Platform for all your business interactions - In much the same way Facebook and Linkedin found a novel way to connect individuals socially and professionally, Tradeshift has also found innovative new ways to connect companies. We’ve also removed the barrier of supplier fees (or taxes as we call them) which a huge inhibitor to connectivity for a long time. - And like Facebook and Linkedin we’ve also built an open application framework which allows us to use this connectivity between businesses to offer a variety of solutions. We began by addressing the electronic invoicing process for large global enterprises like Nike and DHL, but have leveraged this connectivity to deliver a variety of other business applications ranging from payments, to SCF, LATAM Compliance, vendor registration and much, much more. As we see it, once you’ve invested in the effort to connect to your supply chain why not leverage that connectivity to address other processes? It become very easy to that once the connectivity is in place.- As you can see from some of the figures here on the slide, the market is validating our approach in spades. We ahve businesses connected to Tradeshift from over 190 countries, over 5M companies in total connected - including a large number of Quickbooks companies -, we’re processing over 15M invoices, and have over 50 applications offered in our app store.
  • So, what is wrong with work flow today?Well at Tradeshift we’re known for taking a fresh perspective on things . . . So when we first started looking at how to add new value to workflow we noticed one thing right away . . . - Workflow, in its current forms, looks a lot like the assembly-line processes created during the industrial revolution – very rigid, very linear, very mechanical. - If you think about how workflow systems began, they were there initially to add intelligence to very dumb processes. They operate in batch-like fashion requiring employees to make very simple status changes . . . But not offering them any real value. - Workflow today operates entirely inside the 4-walls of the enterprise with no real-time way of including exteral stakeholders like suppliers in the process.
  • Workflow is currently positioned at the very end of processes after data (like tha contain within invoices) has already been pushed into ERP systems. Think about how difficult collaboration or modication of this data is at this point – “VERY” . . . Is the answer in case you were wondering. Today’s workflow systems are hardwired to, and dependent upon whatever back-end system they grew out of - they can’t for example easily span multiple disparate ERP’s or financial systems making global standardization very difficult. And lastly, current worflow solutions are rarely built for today’s workforce who are constatntly on the go and rarely rooted to their desks . . . Where most workflow lives.
  • How is it then that Tradeshift has approached workflow differently? - Well, we can’t really tell that story without first talking about the foundation of connectivity enabled by the Tradeshift. Of course our business model which is free to suppliers removes a huge barrier to participation by suppliers . . . But it’s also our cloud business platform, with innovations like CloudScan and our App store full of software connectors that enable ALL of your business transactions (PO’s, invoices, ASN’s etc) to be electronic and exchanged in real-time. - With this connectivity comes the ability to reach any participant in your supply-chain process – people inside AND outside your company. With Tradeshift you are able to see and learn about the people you are interacting with – not just faceless names . . . But real people. We believe this “humanizes” the process and makes these intractions much more effective. Mihir will illustrate what I mean by this in the demo. - Connectivity also means that many of the steps that previously required human intervention via workflow can now be automated in Tradeshift. An example of this might be . . . . . Is there a PO# present on the invoice?, is it a valid open PO? Does the invoice match the PO? Etc, etc. All of these types of activities are automated in Tradeshift workflow because all of the business documents are electronic.- This automated workflow also begins much earlier in your business processes – for example when an invoice is being generated and submitted (regardless of channel type . . . EDI, FTP, paper etc). By preventing these errors or issues from being created in the first place you dramatically reduce the tyeps of problems (e.g. match exceptions) that must be handled by workflow. So you can see that this automation fundamentally changes the role of workflow in Tradeshift – it changes the focus to solving problems which CANNOT be solved with automation. And this is where collaboration becomes soooo important.
  • Because Tradeshift’s workflow is cloud-based it allows companies to deploy a common standardized process globally across many geographies and disparate back-office systems. Our workflow is extensible to many uses cases – beyond traditional AP automation – something Mihir will speak to in a minute. And finally, Tradeshift’s workflow is buiilt from the ground up to run on any device - so workflow is always accessible and easy to use. (Pause)And with that, I’d like to conclude my overview or Tradeshift and our perspectives on workflow and now transition over to Mihir. Mihir will give us a richer view of Tradeshift’s workflow solution and then ultimately let you see it action.Mihir?
