Swedish Gestures & Body Language  Keep emotions to a minimum; cool, calm, and matter of fact is the preferred way in Sweden under all circumstances.  In dealing with the Swedes, speak in a subdued, modulated tone of voice, as Swedes are a generally quiet people  Avoid conducting a private conversation in public areas.  Swedes tend to stay slightly farther apart than North Americans. Never speak with your hands in your pockets; always keep them firmly at your side when standing.  Shake hands with everyone individually in a group when being introduced and when departing--the American 'group wave' is not appreciated.
