Pasca

  1. 1. HOW TO MAKE A “Pasca”*“Pasca” is  a pound cake filled with cottage cheese and  sour  cream. *It is a traditional Romanian desert, usually done for Easter.
  2. 2. How do we do it?*For making “pasca” we need to make a a dough and a cheese filling.*Here is how my grandma and I did ours for  this Easter
  3. 3. The dough -ingredients*500 g flour*150 g sugar*300 g milk*3 eggs *25 g yeast*100 g oil*a teaspoon of salt*vanilla, rum*grated lemon peel
  4. 4. The dough -preparation*Mix the eggs andsugar together until thesugar melts! *Put the yeast in a bowl of hot milk!
  5. 5. The dough - preparation*Now add both of them in a big bowl with the  flour and lemonand mix them to obtain a dough!*Knead the dough forabout 20 minutes! 
  6. 6. The dough- preparation*While kneading, add the rum, vanilla , salt and oil!*After kneading the dough,just leave it there and waitfor it to grow! 
  7. 7. The dough- preparation ….. It should turn out like this! 
  8. 8. The filling-ingredients*500g cheese* 300 g sugar* 3 eggs* 200 g raisin* vanilla and rum
  9. 9. The filling-preparation* Add the eggs, vanillaand sugar in the bowlwhere you have the cheese!* Mix them together  and finally add the raisins!
  10. 10. Making Pasca!* Prepare a round piece of dough with a roller and put it in the oven tray!* Knit two long piecestogether and put themaround the dough in thetrey! * …..…wait……..
  11. 11. Making pasca!*After the dough grewa little, fill it with the cheese filling!*We made a cross on top because this is the tradition in Romania,but you feel free to decorate it as you wish!*Now put it in the oven!(around  45 minutes)
  12. 12. AND OUR PASCA IS READY! Enjoy it!
