  • 2. Touchmark welcomes two retirement counselors Jill Johnson Kliewer Emily White Jill Johnson Kliewer is a native of Oklahoma but grew up in Louisiana. She is a graduate of Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where she studied education and psychology and met her future husband. Jill married her college sweetheart, Tommy, and they have been happy to call the Oklahoma City area home for the last 20 years. She is a proud mom to daughter, Paisley, a sophomore at OU, and son, Paxton, a junior in high school. Professionally, Jill’s background is in counseling and social services, which has given her the opportunity to work with many populations, from prison inmates to homeless families. “I love working with and helping people,” says Jill. “I’m excited to be at Touchmark and thankful to the staff and residents for making me feel welcome.” During her free time, Jill loves to attend sporting events, especially baseball, and travel. The beach is a favorite. “I’m happiest when spending time with family and friends,” shares Jill. An avid reader, she also enjoys watching old movies and is currently trying to teach herself to knit. Emily is originally from Cowboy Country but has lived in Edmond the last 20 years. She attended University of Central Oklahoma, where she received her degree in business administration as well as her MBA. Emily’s work career started at OPUBCO (The Daily Oklahoman) in the IT department, and from there, she went to work for Boeing Aerospace. Emily has been married to Jeff for 15 years, and they have two children, Eli, 10, and Maddyson, 7. When kids came along, Emily and Jeff decided that her staying home with the kids was the best choice for them. In the meantime, Emily got her Realtors ® license and has worked part time for the last several years. “With the kids in school full time, I decided to get a full-time job, and Touchmark is the perfect place.” When Emily isn’t working, you will find her either watching her kids play basketball, coaching her daughter’s basketball team, attending a church- or sports-related function, or enjoying other family activities. “There is nothing slow-paced about our life, and I love it all,” says Emily. “Go Cowboys! Go Thunder! Go Sooners!” Matters of the heart Marge Coalman, EdD Vice President of Wellness & Programs February is a perfect time to soak up heart-filled sentiments. Both physical and spiritual. As you enjoy the merriment of the season, take time to think about the importance of your heart health as well as your relational health and legacy. In two articles, Touchmark Vice President of Wellness & Programs Marge Coalman, EdD, discusses the importance of connecting with family (and especially creating an end-oflife plan) and shares helpful information from the 50th US Surgeon General’s Report on Smoking and Health.
