  • 3. 2. You get a trolley
  • 4. 3. you go to the check-in desk
  • 5. 4. you check in your luggage
  • 6. 4. you check in your luggage
  • 7. 5. you get a boarding card
  • 8. 6. You go to the departure lounge
  • 9. 7. you look at the departure board to see if your flight is boarding yet
  • 10. 8. the board tells you which gate to go to
  • 11. 9. you go through security check / passport control
  • 12. 10. you go to the duty-free shop
  • 13. 11. you go to your gate
  • 14. 12. you board the plane (= you get into the plane)
  • 15. The plane TAKES OFF
  • 16. Some time later, the plane LANDS
  • 17. Then, when you arrive at your destination… You collect your luggage at baggage (re)claim
  • 18. You go through passport control (again) and through customs (if necessary)
  • 19. Finally, to go to the centre of the city… a. Take a CAB / TAXI
  • 20. b. Take a bus ( shuttle ) c. Take the train
  • 21. 2. TRAIN
  • 22. You get on the train…
  • 23. And when you arrive at your destination, you get off the train
  • 24. Sometimes, you need to change trains (= use two different trains) to get to your destination
  • 25. You buy your tickets at the ticket office
  • 26. You may buy… A SINGLE TICKET A ONE-WAY TICKET A B
  • 27. … OR A RETURN TICKET A ROUND-TRIP TICKET A B
  • 28. Trains depart (leave) from different PLATFORMS
  • 29. If you don’t get to the station on time, you will MISS your train
  • 30. A delay (trains leave or arrive later than they should)
  • 31. Train conductor *
  • 32. 3. Buses
  • 33. A bus
  • 34. A double-decker bus
  • 35. A coach (bus)
