Task 1 Using a protractor, compass and a ruler, you should create a large circle split into 8 equal sections on an A3 piece of paper. The steps on the next slide will help you.

Using a protractor, compass and a ruler, you should create a large circle split into 8 equal sections on an A3 piece of paper.

With your compass, draw a large circle. Try to use as much as the paper as possible. There are 360 ° in a circle To create 8 sections, you need to divide 360 ° by 8. Write your answer down. This number shows how many degrees each section should be. Draw a straight line from the centre spot of your circle to the edge. Place the 0 ° line of your protractor on this line. Now measure the correct number of degrees and mark on the paper. Next join this mark with the centre spot. You should repeat this process until you have 8 equal segments.
