Library Day Celebration</li></li></ul><li>Hungary 2009-20111<br />The school library in Orosháza, Hungary would like to improve the following: <br /><ul><li>the number of real library users (that is more and more of our students should become conscious users of the library, using it for its main purposes like reading, searching for information, using the catalogue by themselves, and not just for surfing the Internet or photocopying, or reading only compulsory books). We already have a number of this kind of conscious library users, but we would like to have more.
  20. 20. create digital databases (for example of earlier issues of local papers or other information of local relevance so that they can be searched online, or digital learning materials about any school subject so that they become available for anybody to use on a computer).
  21. 21. create the possibility of a somewhat bigger and more independent library budget (so that the library can spend more on non-compulsory, mainly contemporary literature, both in Hungarian and in foreign languages, mainly English)</li></li></ul><li>Italy 2009-20111<br /><ul><li>Concerning our Library it would be useful to equip the room with more computer seats, shelves and books.

More “Author Meetings” because they have experienced  to be a valuable stimulus for “Reading” than anything else</li></li></ul><li>Romania 2009-20111<br />Artistic and cultural activities: performances, film watching, reading groups, exhibitions, contests, cultural exchange<br />Educational activities: formative training, teaching lessons, group work, remedial activities for students with special needs<br />Information and communication activities: initiation in documentary research, students’ initiation in techniques of preparation of portfolios, folders, posters, gaining autonomy in teaching<br />Educational and vocational guidanceactivities: meetings with personalities from various fields, visits to different institutions, audio-video viewing, workshops to discuss news articles, jobs presentations (for vocational high schools)<br />Improving the taste for reading: author meetings, editor, journalist, illustrators meetings, teacher-parent sessions, reading contests, literary workshops, editing school magazines, albums, cartoons, reading groups, drama clubs, image reading, pictures inspired from literary works, reading techniques, little reporters’ club.<br />Activities for the management of the documentary fund: updating and enriching the collections of books, activities of book reconditioning, book donations, space organizing, adapting the books according to students’ age groups, to their needs <br />

Booktrailers</li></li></ul><li>Turkey 2009-20111<br />ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT IN OUR LIBRARY<br />Author events and book signings: <br />Many bookshops in Istanbul host author events and book signings. We wanted our students to join author events and book signings. After they met with writers and had a short interview with them, they presented writers and new books at the school library for their friends.<br />Rhetoric and Poetics Workshop at library:<br />To encourage our students to write for contests which are orginized by Turkish National Education. Also, a book consists of students’s stories and poems will be printed out soon.<br />Exhibitions at library:<br />History of the book and the library through the history. <br />Libraries in Istanbul<br />European day celebration<br />
