In place betting, you have to place a bet on your horse to finish as second placer. If your horse finishes first or second, you may cash your ticket. In this type of bet, you get to have more chances of being able to you’re your ticket. However, the payoff from such a type of bet will not be as much as the payoff from win betting. In show betting, you have to place a bet on your horse to finish in the third position. To be able to cash in your ticket, your horse has to finish first, second, or third. Again, there will be more chances for you to cash in your ticket, but for the least amount of payoff. There is also win place betting, wherein you place your bet on your horse to come in first or second. If your horse finishes first, you get both payoffs – win and place. If it finishes second, you get the show payoff. Across the board betting is another type of bet, wherein your horse has to come first, second, or third. Should your horse come in first, you get all three payoffs. Should it come second, you may collect two payoffs – place and show. And should it finish third, you will be able to collect only the show payoff.
