TEACHer LEARNing: Are we there yet, dad?
Ever since Barr and Tagg pointed out that most of our educational institutions were “built” on a critical “design flaw”, we have been working to promote LEARNing in our schools, colleges and universities.
…or have we?
Since the 80s and 90s education has changed - we now know so much more about effective LEARNing and TEACHing and can draw on new advances in curriculum, assessment, technology and programmes of quality and effectiveness.
The question is – has TEACHer LEARNing kept pace with these changes?
In this session, Tony will explore what it is that TEACHers need:
• to KNOW
• to DO with what they KNOW and LEARN, and
• to consider so as to IMPROVE what they DO with what they KNOW and LEARN
…and what our schools, colleges and universities need to do to put TEACHer LEARNing back at the heart of their decision-making.
