The transaction cloud

  1. 1. Vision (1/3)Untill today businesses have been sending transactions (eg invoices) fromcompany A to company B and have been storing this data accross different(ERP) systems. The most destructive example of this being to put data from a very wellstructured ERP system on an unstructured paper document that is thenbeing re-entered manually in another very well structured system. All the same data! In all kind of different systems and not useable outside thecompany’s walls. This is first of all not very efficient and leads to errors but most importantlystops business to make fully use of the data they, or their business partners ,already have. 2
  2. 2. We have automated, structured and optimized internal processes… . .. . . . . . 3
  3. 3. But for external processes we still use many paper based, unstructured documents, faxes, emails, catalogs, etc. PO order Stock request Delivery note Invoice 4
  4. 4. Vision (2/3)The system will enable companies to use 1 central set of transaction data andre-use this data where needed in their business relations.Instead of copying data from a system and sending this out on paper or email, there is 1 central and leading transaction for both sender and receiver, thelocal system has only a copy of the data. For all trading parties involved a transaction will be born, grow, change andeventually be pensioned off in this central place. A transaction will bestarted by one party and this data lives on from the proposal, to the order, tothe invoice and eventually to the payment . 5
  5. 5. The system enables 1 single set of transaction data that can be re-used and updated by both parties 6
  6. 6. Vision (3/3)Re-use of data where possible, 1 version of the truth! As the transaction is centrally available this data can also be used for all kindof additional services.Examples are real-time financing, logistic value chain integration , tradingplatforms and/or website integration. The system allows companies to work together more efficiently bymanaging business transactions in a open, simple and structured way.Connecting businesses should be just as easy as using email, MSN or Skype. 7
  7. 7. Key solution principles• Share and re-use already available data• Don’t generate unstructured data from already structured data• Working together more efficiently• Easy as email or instant messaging• Based on open standards and available communication methods• Fun to use 9
  8. 8. Real time transactions in the cloud 10
  9. 9. Solution outlines• Links businesses and their accounting/ERP package to the outside world in a structured way• Uses email as primary notification and address space, this assures 100% reach• Does not require any software implementation at business partners• Is secure, save and legally compliant• Based on open standards• Easy as email 11
  10. 10. Cloud transaction objects – how does it work? Request Proposal Contract Purchase order Sales order OrderCompany A Receipt Delivery Cloud Delivery Company B Invoice Invoice Invoice Payment Payment Payment 12
