  • Select Industries > Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages (drop down menu). Note – none of the Sub-Industry categories appear useful but you can do a company search using Green Mountain Coffee. Either way, you get to the Industry Survey for Food and Nonalcoholic Beverages. Do Industry Survey first. Note Glossary and Industry References, Current Environment, Industry Profile and How to Analyze a Food and Nonalcoholic Beverage Company. Under Industry References, see Trade Associations, Research Firms and Regulatory Agencies. Click on USDA and search for coffee.   • The advantage of Mintel is its granularity and its market research reports. If you are looking for information on a very specific product, you can find it here. Username= email address. Password is jrd1mpd8. Select Drink. Coffee – December 2009 is the first report. Note Appendix: Trade Associations. We’ll look at those shortly.
  • Select Industries and then use the search capability for coffee. When you find coffee, note icons for Statistics and Reports. Check the box. Do the geography search for USA. Then search, and find the Coffee report.
  • Do a search for coffee. Limit to Reference/Reports. Results 14 and 15 are reports on the coffee industry.
  • Then add Coffee Industry from the left side Narrow Results By…. Note the World Outlook for Coffee reports. On the Datamonitor report, note the SWOT Analysis.
  • SCAA – See under Resources: market reports, standards, protocols, article on What is Specialty Coffee? ICA – see About Coffee, coffee prices and Statistics (trade statistics, historical data, etc.)
  • We already looked at the Department of Agriculture. We can also look at the EPA.
