Roof System Must be Compatible with Electronic Leak Detection Technology
    • The appropriate electronic leak detection technology must be chosen for the specific roofing system
    • 13. Progeo evaluates roofing and waterproofing membrane with proposed SMARTEX system to ensure meaningful test and no conductivity issues
    • 14. Certain PVC and EPDM membranes cannot be used, as they produce false positive signals for leakage
    • 15. Vapor and some root barriers can prevent electronic testing

    Why do it
    • Eliminate the roof as possible source of leak
    • 16. Save money for owner, GC, roofer
    • 17. Avoid expense of repairing roof multiple times due to “trial and error” method of leak detection
    • 18. Avoid expense of unnecessary overburden removal
    • 19. Avoid insulation replacement due to undetected leaks
    • 20. Avoid mold and mildew damage due to undetected leaks
    • 21. Vapor barriers act as ancillary waterproofing membrane and can prevent leaks from being noticed until damage to roofing system is severe
    • 22. Protect critical buildings that cannot afford to have any leaks with a continuous monitoring system

Summary of Electronic Membrane Mapping (EMMTM) Technology
    • On-demand and continuous monitoring technologies are available
    • 26. Each roof system must be evaluated for testability and to determine appropriate technology
    • 27. Best practice for quality assurance of roof and risk mitigation… especially for roofs with overburden
    • 28. Well worth initial investment
    • 29. Far superior to flood-testing
