    • DOODLETomasz Walasek Doodle - easy scheduling This project has been funded with support from the European Commission. This publication reflects the views only of the author, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein.
    • DoodleMUTUALLY AGREE ON A TIME … BUT NOT ONLYWHAT IS DOODLE?Doodle lets you easily schedule any meeting. It can save you a lot of time and energy when you‟re tryingto find a time suitable for a number of people to get together. In Doodle you can propose several datesand times and the participants can mark their availability online with just a tick. Immediately, you‟ll beable to see what the best time for the meeting is.WHY DO I NEED IT?To find the time for a get-together which suits everyone This work by Tomasz Walasek is licensed under Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0 License. • HOW TO USE IT? 1. Create an account – just fill in all the fields (you need to have an active e-mail address) and accept the Terms of Service. 2. Now you can schedule your first meeting. To do that follow Easy scheduling instructions. This work by Tomasz Walasek is licensed under Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0 License. Page 2
    • 3. Now define your meeting - give it a title, location and description. Sign it with your name and email address. And move forward.4. You need to give the date or dates to choose from for your attendees (friends, colleagues…). Just click on the desired day. If you make a mistake – do not panic, click the day again . When you‟re done – go to the next screen. This work by Tomasz Walasek is licensed under Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0 License. Page 3
    • 5. After setting up the days it‟s time to decide when the meeting should start and end. You don‟t have to write a full hour format (10:00). Doodle will change a simple “10” to “10:00”. There are more tips here: A. If you do not enter the time – Doodle will show your meeting as an all-day event, B. Look a little bit lower – you can add further time slots if you need more than three, C. You can copy and paste the first row.6. You click on „next‟ and then skip “3. Settings” step (select Basic Poll) by clicking on „next‟ again. This work by Tomasz Walasek is licensed under Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0 License. Page 4
    • 7. Congratulations! You have created your first online poll – now there is only one thing left: you must invite people to respond to your poll. You can do that in two ways: A. You can send an invitation by yourself – using your e-mail account or B. You can type e-mails of your friends in Doodle and Doodle will send invitations for you. You can even compose your own message to your friends This work by Tomasz Walasek is licensed under Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0 License. Page 5
    • 8. If you decided to invite your friends by yourself, Doodle offers you two different links: the first one – you copy and paste the e-mail to your friends; the second one is for you to change, close or delete the poll.ASSIGNMENTSAssignment 1: Schedule an eventYou are going to have lunch this week with three of your friends. Try to learn when it is possible. Luckilyyou are free every day this week (Monday-Friday, 12:00-13:00, 13:00-14:00).The last time you had lunch with your friends was at a small Polish restaurant “Jadłodajnia GrzegorzaBrzęczyszczykiewicza”. It was great so you suggest the same place.Schedule your lunchAssignment 2: Invite your friends and see what happensHaving prepared the poll, invite three of your friends to the lunch. See if it is possible to find a timewhich suits everyone. Send an invitation to your tutor as well. This work by Tomasz Walasek is licensed under Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0 License. Page 6
