Design and share high enrollment, gatekeeper courses
Improve course completion rates
Lower textbook costs for students ($30 or less)
Provide new resources for faculty to use in their courses
Fully engage our colleges in the global open educational resources discussion.

What impacts do the courses developed for OCL Phase II have on student retention and completion rates?
How are students ’ course choices influenced by the availability of textbooks that are either free or below $30?
How do they respond to having open and sharable materials?
What impact do the courses developed for OCL Phase II have on faculty members' teaching practices, philosophies, attitudes toward open education?

Expectations
Faculty and student surveys are mandatory
Student surveys will come at the end of Fall 2012 (pilot quarter)
We will conduct in-depth phone interviews with a subset of faculty members
