Transcript of "REMIX SUMMIT-Nick Tandavanitj, Artist, Blast Theory"
Digital Art2 is a collaborative project between C3RI at Sheffield Hallam
University, EE, Sheffield Doc/Fest and Blast Theory.
Funded by an award from NESTA’s Digital R&D Fund for the Arts
An investigation into how to establish a connected wifi and 4G platform to
allow artists to present an immersive digital and interactive experience for
Blast Theory’s live transmission project “I’d Hide You” was used as a pilot.
Questions we looked to explore
• What kind of production and technical teams are needed to support a
public space as a digital arts space?
• What aspects of performance in the city do audiences find most exciting?
• How can institutions use digital media to reach out beyond the bounds of
theatres and galleries and who are the new potential audiences?
• What kind of place does performance in a digital public space make? How
do audiences engage? For how long? Referred by what networks?
