  • Introduction Q – who is a leader? What is your expectation coming to the workshop?
  • Let’s talk about what leadership is not.
  • Leadership is not about talent. It’s not about how great someone is, how well he can sing and not about what kind of skills you have.
  • All great leaders saw the first glimpse of the world the same as you did – when you came out of your mother’s womb. Later I will tell you a story about a leader I look up to. When u hear his story – you will understand that leaders are not born – they are moulded. ENVIRONMENT?
  • It’s not about titles and ranks. It’s about action.
  • Leaders lead and guide; bosses drive. A leader is a servant. A leaders is a MENTOR. Seek to gain RESPECT – lead by example.
  • It’s not about ‘you follow me’. Leadership is not control. It’s about authority Obama – brought people together Nehemiah and Ezra brought the people together to rebuild the temple.
  • Disciple is different from a student. He sits down at the masters’ feet to learn and catch things. He MODELS. The best student is not necessarily the best leader. Because qualities and attributes comes from RUBBING SHOULDERS with an influential person. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE THAT INSPIRE YOU.
  • Activity 1 – who inspires me? A leader that I look up to. It should be someone, not God. Write why.
  • Everything starts with vision.
  • The essense of leadership is purpose Esther had a vision. It was so strong that she’ll even lay her life down for it to come to past. Story of Moses & Joshua – bringing people to somewhere they are to someone they have not been Do you have a vision? Hab 2:2 – write the vision down Are you working/leading week in and out without purpose? Some people start off strong, but fizzle out after weeks/months/years.
  • Write the vision down
  • Be clear and unwavering
  • It needs to be motivating
  • Patience
  • Has a set time. Do not rush it.
  • PASSION fuels the vision Passion is the glue that helps teams stick to their plans through adversity and over the long haul. Stems from the heart Turns boring stuff into interesting something! Don’t make people follow; be a fire starter & an influencer. “ Passion for God’s house will consume me” – is your vision stemming from God?! If it is you will know that the passion will not die down. IT will drive you to act in obedience to His word.
  • Hard times: Adversity is an important factor in developing and improving Don’t chicken out in the face of adversity
  • Illustration of the seed/roots Humble leaders don’t think of themselves as being any more important than anyone else in the organization. In fact, they see themselves more as the conductor of the orchestra; they’re not making any of the actual music, that WORK IS BEING DONE BY OTHER MEMBERS OF THE TEAM.
  • Humble leaders don’t think of themselves as being any more important than anyone else in the organization. In fact, they see themselves more as the conductor of the orchestra; they’re not making any of the actual music, that WORK IS BEING DONE BY OTHER MEMBERS OF THE TEAM.
  • Leaders who are God-conscious are concern about what purposes and will of God. They pray before acting and listen before moving. David seeked God.
  • If you are following Christ, people will follow you Christ has followers, but not all were close.
  • WHY should I trust YOU???! Gravitate You need to first connect, engage and gain TRUST Great influencers cause people to pick up after them and do greater!!
  • This next generation will not just teach the people; they will inspire the body of Christ to live like Jesus. Their example in all things will awaken godliness in those around them. From true virtue shall the leaders of tomorrow draw true authority, for when the nature of Christ is revealed, the authority of Christ soon follows. – Francis Frangipane
