  • 3. DETAILS OF 900 WORKERS ARE AS UNDER: median = 59.25, what are missing frequencies? ? = X =145 40 to 50 200 50 to 60 185 ? =250 120 No. of workers 70 to 80 60 to 70 30 to 40 WAGES

    • 900/2 = 450 this belongs to 50 to 60 class. (median is 59.25)
    • Put in formulae:
    • 50 + (450 – (120 +X))/200 *10 =59.25
    • 330 – X = 9.25 *20
    • X = 330 – 185
    • X = 145
    • Total all : (120+145+200+185) =550
    • Deduct 550 from 900 = 250 ans.

    • In 1990 out of total 2400 students in a college in a metropolitan city, 1800 were for graduation and the rest for post graduation. Out of 1800 graduate students 600 were girls. However, in all there were 800 girls in the college. In 1995, the number of graduate students increased to 2000out of which 700 were girls but the number of PG students falls to 500 of which only 400 were boys. In 2005, out of 1000 girls, 800 were for graduation where as total number of graduates were 2500. The number of boys and girls in PG classes were equal. Prepare a tabular presentation.
