BHAGAVAD GITA – THE DIVINE SONG-An Introduction  Bhagavad Gita-Part of the Sanskrit Epic Mahabhaaratha.(200 BC to 200 AD)  700 verses in 18 chapters.  A conversation between Lord Krishna and his close friend Arjuna in the middle of the battlefield just before the start of the Kurukshetra battle.  Arjuna loses his heart and refuses to fight his teachers and relatives, and Krishna revives him by his wise words of wisdom.   • 10. Gems of Bhagavad Gita THE’SHAAM SATHATHAYUKTHAANAAM BHAJATHAAM PREETHIPOORVAKAM, DADAAMI BUDHIYOGAM THAM YE’NA MAAMUPAYAANTHI THE’. (10.10) To them who are constantly united with Me, & who lovingly adore Me, I grant that intellectual union by which they draw near to Me. TKG Namboodhiri
  • 11. Gems of Bhagavad Gita AHAMATMA GUDAKESA SARVA BHOOTHAASAYA STHITHAH, AHAM AADISCHA MADHYAM CHA BHOOTHAANAMANTHA E’VA CHA. (10-20) Arjuna, I am the Self residing in the inside of all beings; also, I am the beginning, the middle & the end of all beings. TKG Namboodhiri

Gems of Bhagavad Gita In the next 20 verses, from 10.20 to 10.40, Sri Krishna talks about His divine attributes by stating that all the great things, like, sun, moon, various gods like Indra, Varuna & Yama, great sages like Bhrigu, Vasishta, Narada, demonic people like Prahlaada, & Bali, fig tree, serpants like Vaasuki & Anantha, elephant Airaavatha, horse Uchaisravah, king among men, & myriads of other great things, are various manifestations of Him alone.TKG Namboodhiri
  • 13. Gems of Bhagavad Gita YACHCHAAPI SARVA BHOOTHAANAAM BEEJAM THADAHAM ARJUNA, NA THADASTHI VINA YATHSYAANMAYAA BHOOTHAM CHARAACHARAM. (10.39) Arjuna, I am the seed of all life. There is nothing, moving or unmoving in this universe, which exists without Me TKG Namboodhiri
  • 14. Gems of Bhagavad Gita YADYADWIBHOOTHIMATHSATHWAM SREEMADOORJTHAME’VA VA, THATHTHADWE’VAAVAGACHCHA THWAM MAMA THE’JO AMSASAMBHAVAM. (10.41) Whatever being has power, glory, or energy, know each of them to be born of a part of My splendour. TKG Namboodhiri
