4K Partnership: Program Design Features Department of Public Instruction requirements Collaborative Opportunity Partner Selection Process Classroom Locations
4K Partnership: Curriculum Utilize the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards Align with the district’s curriculum Thematic units with emerging literacy emphasis Staff development is jointly coordinated by the district and community partners
4K Partnership: Reporting & Record Management Report cards are distributed each trimester (December, March, and June) Parent/teacher conferences are held twice a year (October & March)
4K Partnership: Collaborative Approach Work collaboratively with the identified district administrator/principal Scheduling on-going learning opportunities between the partner and the family May provide “wrap-around” care before/after school
4K Partnership: Staffing & Support Services 4K programs have access to other district services : Nurse Special education Teachers and classroom aides are community partner employees Wisconsin licensed teacher in every classroom (teachers are currently applying and will be jointly interviewed by the district and community partners) Classroom aide in every classroom Elementary principal is the district program contact Joint supervision of classroom teacher by community partner and district
Schedule & Calendar
4K: Schedule & Calendar Student Day: 2 hour 45 minute sessions 2010-11 Morning session ran from: 8:50-11:50* 2011-11 afternoon session ran from: 1:10-4:10* *Times subject to change based on registration & transportation decisions.
4K Schedule & Calendar 4K follows the school district calendar with a few exceptions that are published once the district calendar is finalized. These dates include early release, late starts and no-school dates.
Transportation Transportation is provided to and from the home address and 4K only, and does not include wrap-around care or transportation to a non-home address. Transportation routes are finalized in summer. Bussing schedules will be provided to parents/guardians via mail and/or email prior to the start of the school year.
Transportation: Busing Efforts will be made to minimize the time spent on busses. Parents have the option of providing their own transportation.

Registration Process Muskego-Norway Schools facilitates the overall registration process with the assistance of our partners 4K is open to all district residents who are 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2010 (no early entrance) Registration remains open Registration materials are available tonight or at the elementary schools
Registration Process Each household is aligned to an elementary school which in turn determines the 4K community partner site. Intra-district Transfer Requests Considered Placements are not guaranteed No transportation is provided with this option Due to district office by May 6, 2011
Registration Process Step 1: Read through the registration process letter and accompanying packet Then, complete the 4 Year Old Kindergarten Commitment Form Return 4K Commitment Form tonight at the door, or at your designated elementary school
Registration Process Step 2: Pick up your 4K Registration Packet available at the door tonight, or at your designated elementary school If interested, pick up an Intra-District transfer form Complete and return this registration packet to your designated elementary school
Registration Process: Important Dates May 6 Register by this date for greatest opportunity to obtain your preferred 4K time and Community Partner Intra-district transfer requests are due.
