It   should   be   clear,   professional,   serious   and   above   all,   email simple.  Remember,  we  are  talking  about  job  applies,  and   bit.ly/EuromedConf not  about  Facebook  or  MSN  Messenger. A  lot  of  people  have  an  email  address  as: NO!!! You should use the -superlover87@hotmail.com email best formula!! -kyttysweetyeyes@wanadoo.fr -magic.paul13@yahoo.com Do   you  really  think  it’s  serious  to  begin  a  rela1on   with   an   enterprise   by   sending   your   cv   and   cover   name.surname@gmail.com leGer,  in  which  you  spent  a  lot  of  energies,  from  an   address  like  that? So,  you  should  considerate  to  create  and  use  a  new  email  address,  with  the  email  address  formula. Tiziano Tassi International Exchange Student from Università degli Studi di Parma, Italy
  • 8. Follow and share Twi$er   is   a   microblogging   tool   that   allow   people   to   write   a   maximum  of  140  characters,  sharing  thoughts,  news,  feelings,  or   links. bit.ly/EuromedConf On  TwiGer  you  can  find  friends,  people  you  know,  or  people  you   don’t  know  but  who  share  useful  notes  and  links.  You  can  track   trending   topics,   track   what   people   say   about   you   (with   men1ons,   it  means  twits  including  your  “@nickname”)  and  join   conversa1on   on   topic   you   are   most   interested   about   twee1ng,   and  people  can  follow  your  updates  if  they  find  them  interes1ng. Today   TwiGer   is  no   longer   for   early   adopters   only:   it’s  going   to   became  bigger  and  bigger,  following  the  footprints  of  Facebook. Tiziano Tassi International Exchange Student from Università degli Studi di Parma, Italy
  • 9. My Experience Twee1ng  I  had  the  opportunity  to  met  a  lot  of  people. And   more,   I   stay   updated   by   ac1vies   and   interes1ng   news,   links   and  other,  from  people  I  consider  interes1ng. Via   Twi@er,   I   follow   managers,   friends,   brands   and   employers.   I   keep  in  touch  with  L’Oréal,  for  example,  which  has  an  account  for   HR.  I  keep  in  touch  with   MicrosoF   managers  who  have   personal   accounts,   and   with   MicrosoF   Corp.   who   has   several   official   accounts.  And  again,  Fiat,  Eric  Schmidt  (Google),  Bill  Gates  (MsV). So,  come  on  Twi@er  and  start  to  tweet! Tiziano Tassi International Exchange Student from Università degli Studi di Parma, Italy
  • 10. My Experience Tweeting about a Microsoft Logo work made in Euromed - L. Colombo, CMO Microsoft Italy “Are you ready for Reveal?” - G. Silva, L’Oreàl Recruiter “Very good Tiziano. What they said?” - Microsoft Italy Official Blog Tiziano Tassi International Exchange Student from Università degli Studi di Parma, Italy
  • 11. Publish: content is the King Publish  is  important,  because  today  we  are  in  a  world  where  you  show  what  you  know,  what   you  have  done.  Google  will  say  “who  you  are”. So  there  are  2  main  tools  to  publish: -‐ Create  your  blog for free -‐ Publish  your  works for free When   you  apply  for   a   job   offer,   the   first   thing   recruiter   will   do  is  “Google”  your  name.   What  you  want  he’ll  find  out?  Of  course,  your  best  content. bit.ly/EuromedConf Tiziano Tassi International Exchange Student from Università degli Studi di Parma, Italy

PS:  if  you  Google  for  my  name,  you  will  find  Slideshare  profile  in  1°  place  and  my  Blog  at  8°  place. • 13. Business Social Networks In  a   Business  Social  Network  you  can  fill  your   online   cv   and   keep   in   touch   with   people   you   know   for   academical   or   professional  reasons. You  look  for  people  you  known  and  you  ask  them  to  connect   with   you.   When   they   accept   your   invita1on,   you   will   be   updated   on   each   ac1vity   they   do,   as   a   new   job,   a   status   update,  a  poll,  a  job  offer  from  his  company  and  more. That’s   also   useful   to   find   partners   in   future,   to   see   if   they   have  recommenda2ons  (it  means  “if  they  work  well”)  and  to   contact   people   you   would   like   to   talk   for   any   professional   reason. bit.ly/EuromedConf Tiziano Tassi International Exchange Student from Università degli Studi di Parma, Italy
  • 14. My experience I   am   ac1ve   only   on   LinkedIn,   because   it’s   the   most   used   business  social  network  in  world,   but  Viadeo  and  Xing  are   stronger  than  it  in  Europe. Thanks  to  LinkedIn,  I  can  keep  in  touch  with  a  lot  of  professionals,  managers  and  professors. You  can  see  the  most  important  below  (but  I  could  make  this  list  bigger  and  bigger): Colombo,  Luca Brunozzi,  Simone Camisani  Calzolari,  Marco Consumer  &  Online  MarkeSng  Officer  at  MicrosoF Technology  Evangelist,  AWS  at  Amazon.com CEO  &  Founder  at  Speakage Persega2,  Andrea Rinaldi,  Carlo Saucet,  Doctor  Marcel General  Manager  at  Nintendo  Italy MarkeSng  Manager  at  MicrosoF Professor  /  innovaSon  Consultant Zuliani,  Giuseppe Rinero,  Enrico Palon,  Sarah Private  Label  Director  at  Conad CRM  &  Community  Global  Manager  at  Buongiorno MarkeSng  Manager  at  Google Iantorno,  Carlo Montemagno,  Marco Meroni,  Elisa Innovation  &  Social  Responsibility  Manager  at  Microsoft CEO  Blogosfere.it  -‐  Anchor  SKY  TG24 News  Editor  at  Yahoo!  Italy Silva,  Gabriele Con2,  Luca Con2no,  Andrea Recruiter  at  L'Oréal  Italy   Internet  PR  Consultant,  speaker,  writer PR  Specialist  at  MicrosoF  Italy Tiziano Tassi International Exchange Student from Università degli Studi di Parma, Italy
  • 15. The “Oracle” Everybody  knows  Google,  and  everybody  knows  what  Google  is. But  Google  knows  everything  about  everybody, and  Google  says  “who  you  are”. Tiziano Tassi International Exchange Student from Università degli Studi di Parma, Italy
  • 16. Monitor you reputation It   could   also   be   useful   to   m o n i t o r   y o u r   o n l i n e   reputa1on   with   a   “people   search  engine”. Wink,   123People   or   Pipl   are   special   search   engines   that   allow   you  to   monitor   a   lot   of   things  about  yourself. bit.ly/EuromedConf Tiziano Tassi International Exchange Student from Università degli Studi di Parma, Italy

  • 18. About Facebook You   can   or   not   include   Facebook   in  you  online  strategy. I  suggest  to  use  privacy  seangs  to   open   your   profile   only   to   friends   (not  friends  of  friends  or  others). I  use  Facebook  both  for  work  and   for   personal   use,   but   I   want   to   keep   it   as   a   “personal”   tool   to   Where  you  can  find  privacy  seFngs?  There. manage  rela1ons  and  friendships. So  Google  should  not  see  it.  ;) Tiziano Tassi International Exchange Student from Università degli Studi di Parma, Italy
