    • Overview to all kinds of gradesof titanium materialCandice Licandice.titanium@gmail.comwww.bjmkgs.com
    • Titanium Grade 1• Titanium Grade 1 is “unalloyed” titanium offering optimum ductility andcold formability. This grade has high impact toughness and is readilyweldable. The material is capable of deep drawing, and used for plate, frame, and tubeheat exchangers, and also is used as plate for explosive bonding for cladplate. The titanium grade is castable and is sometimes utilized “as cast” in dentalapplications.• This titanium material is available as casting, wire, weldedtube, bar, plate, sheet, forgings, and billet.• with the nice ductility of titanium grade 1, it is widely used in stampings.
    • Titanium Grade 2• Titanium grade 2 is also “unalloyed” titanium offering an excellentbalance of strength and ductility. This grade has good toughness and isreadily weldable. This material is very corrosion resistant in highlyoxidizing and mildly reducing environments. The material is castableand is often utilized in cast valves and fittings. In plate form, the alloyis also used explosively bonded to make clad plate.• This titanium material is available as casting, wire, welded tube, pipe, plate, sheet, strip, forgings, bar and billet.
    • Titanium Grade 3• Titanium Alloy Grade 3 is “unalloyed” titanium offering improvedstrength, moderate ductility, and ASME Code design allowables. Thismaterial is readily weldable and is very corrosion resistant in highlyoxidizing and mildly reducing environments.• The titanium material is castable and is often utilized in cast valves andfittings. This titanium is available as casting, wire, weldedtube, pipe, plate, sheet, forgings, bar and billet.
    • Titanium Grade 4• Titanium Alloy Grade 4 is “unalloyed” titanium offering improvedstrength, moderate ductility, and ASME Code design allowable. Thismaterial is readily weldable and is very corrosion resistant in highlyoxidizing and mildly reducing environments. The material is castable.
    • Titanium Grade 5• This Titanium Grade 5(Ti-6Al-4V) alloy is the most widely used titaniumalloy of the alpha-plus-beta class and it is also the most common of alltitanium alloys.• The alloy is very well castable and is utilized “ as cast” in sporting goods. The wrought material is used in aerospace, medical, and other applicationswhere moderate strength, good strength to weight and favorable corrosionproperties are required.•This titanium alloy is available as casting, wire, bar, plate, sheet, forgings, rings, and billet.
    • Titanium Grade 7• Titanium Palladium Alloy Gr 7 (Ti Pd Alloy) is the most corrosion resistantof all currently available titanium alloys. This grade is especially well suitedto applications requiring resistance to general as well as localized crevicecorrosion. Grade 7 also exhibits good strength, welding and formingcharacterise.• Titanium Grade 7 is commonly used, to chemical treatments, desalinationand the production of electricity.• This titanium alloy is available as castings, wire, weldedtube, pipe, plate, sheet, strip, forgings, bar, and billet.
    • Titanium Grade 9• This titanium alloy is an alpha alloy that is strengthened by coldworking. The material exhibits good ductility and toughness.• It is used in a wide range of tubular products from aircraft ducting to golfclub shafts and bicycle frames.• The alloy is available as wire, bar, sheet, seamless and welded tubing.
    • Titanium Grade 11Titanium grade 11 is very similar to Grade 1, except for the addition of a tinybit of palladium to enhance corrosion resistance, making it an alloy. Thiscorrosion resistance is useful to protect against crevice erosion andreducing acid in chloride environments.• This titanium alloy widely used in chemical processing, chloratemanufacturing, desalination, marine applications.
    • Titanium Grade 12• Titanium alloy grade 12 holds an “excellent” rating for its high qualityweldability. It is a highly durable alloy that provides a lot of strength at hightemperatures. Grade 12 titanium possesses characteristics similar to 300series stainless steels.• Titanium alloy grade 12 is widely used in shell and heatexchangers, hydrometallurgical applications, elevated temperaturechemical manufacturing, marine and airfare components.
    • Titanium Grade 23• Grade 23 is also known as Ti-6Al-4V ELI or simply Ti 6-4 ELI. ELI standsfor Extra Low Interstitials. Titanium Grade 23 is very similar to Grade 5except that Grade 23 has less oxygen, nitrogen and iron. This makes thealloy more ductility and better fracture resistance (but slightly less strength)than Grade 5.• 6Al-4V ELI is one of the most widely used Titanium alloys in the medicalindustry. It is certified to ASTM F136, and commonly referred to as implantgrade 6-4 Titanium. Its properties of biocompatibility, corrosionresistance, high strength, and toughness make it especially suitable forimplants and other medical devices.
