Importer Certification – JAS for Japan
3 rd Party Screening and Certification of importer, packaging, and warehouse company
4 months and much paperwork
Separate certification for each commodity
JAS mark and certificate holder number on each package
Audit 1 to 2 times per year
Cost - $3,000 for initial screening, $2,000 for Annual Fee
Challenge – Risk of fumigation, fruit cannot be sold as organic
