Slide 7: The project was realized during after-school classes by groups of students who were interested in Science. The project content correlated with syllabus in both Polish and Lithuanian school. The aim of the project was to teach and have fun at the same time.

Slide 8: Calendar of the project  Duration: 3 months-(1 year)  Languages: English (Russian, Polish, Lithuanian)  Subjects:  Science (physics)  ICT,  interdisciplinary relation. Foreign languages.  Students age: 14 - 18

Slide 9: The main goals of the project (1)  To learn how to communicate with people from different countries.  How to apply laws of physics, its rules and phenomena, to use them in daily life.  How to research, choose and collect useful information - how to present information and share it with friends from other countries.

Slide 10: The main goals of the project (2)  How to use information given by partners and solve problems - how to use sources which can be found on the Internet and send them to each other  Students will improve their English and knowledge of ICT.  To motivate integrated training of foreign language (English) and other subjects (physics) (CLIL), using ICT.  Team work.

Slide 11: The project was carried out on two planes in six parts.

Slide 12: Activities (1)  Both teams of students and teachers according to concerted plan pursued the project.  This project developed students’ imagination, self-sufficiency and confidence.  Physics teachers discussed the topics and their presentation with students, English teachers checked and helped students to translate prepared materials and ICT teachers with students introduced and presented products, using ICT (Power Point, Internet, programs).

Slide 13: Activities (2)  Students and teachers of partners’ schools communicated very closely. Were organized two visits: in Poland and Lithuania. Participants of the project communicated in English, they visited places related to physics and astronomy, introduced cultures and traditions of countries. Students participation in the project:  communication in English language;  preparing and presentation of the material about school and country;  meeting with the Road Police Department;  team work, taking photos and films about working moments;  discussions and using of given information;  presentation of final product- e-albums.

Slide 14: Visit in Poland 2007-06-12 – 14

Slide 15: Visit in Poland 2007-06-12 – 14

Slide 16: Visit in Lithuania 2007-09-26 – 29

Slide 17: Visit in Lithuania 2007-09-26 – 29

Slide 18: Results of the project (1)  The project takes opportunity to communicate with partners from different countries of Europe. It helps to find new friends and experience shows that students cultivate their friendship out of the project. Huge influence on it has exchanging visits. Students present their schools and countries.  Processing this project students propagate their school.

Slide 19: Results of the project (2)  The project stimulates interest in physics and shows that this science is not only important but interesting too. It saves human health and life. The knowledge of basic physics rules and laws can prevent many problems and disasters.  At the same time we’d like to show that students can have great fun learning physics. The ideas which we presented to each other can be used on our lessons as well as out of the school.

Slide 20: The final product are e-albums which were also put on CDs, so that our students who don’t have the Internet at home could use them. The project concerned things which are around us, what young people learn during Science classes. Materials which were prepared may be useful for other students because they will not be „out of date”.

Slide 21: Difficulties of the project  The first of all, we are different types of schools;  The duration of the project in the beginning was too short, as we prolonged it.  It was a little difficult to work with the group, as we divided students to small groups of two-three students.  It is difficult to start a well functioning technical communication through the Internet between the students.

Slide 22: The tools were used  During the project students used ICT positively:  found out information in Internet;  wrote the texts (using Word)  translated them (using computer’s dictionary);  presented the preparing material (using Power Point and multi-media);  communicated by e-mail and Skype.  Was created the Blog where is all information about the project.

Slide 23: The benefits (1)  There is not only educational information, but the working moments, excursions. Students were motivated;  It was interesting and funny to work together.  They used digital and video-cameras, recording interesting moments.  The material of the project was put on the school web page, and many students were interested in recognising.  This project influenced on other teachers too and they were included into the meeting with partner. And now some of them are interested in new projects.

Slide 24: The benefits (2)  This project was awarded eTwinning Quality Label of Lithuanian and Polish National Agencies and European Quality Label.  Our project is the winner of the competition “The best Lithuanian eTwinning schools”. It was also awarded in Poland, in competition for Science project and as a reward Polish coordinator was invited to CERN.  And finally we are here in Bucharest.

Slide 25: Advantages of the project I remember the words of Anne Gilleran in the seminar in Finland. She said that the advantage of eTwinning project is that it costs you nothing. But informal contacts of students and teachers, time that we spent together, new relation is worthy.
