Personal Hurricane Center.com Personal Hurricane Center began as a desktop application in 2004. The program interlaced satellite imagery with tropical cyclone positions and hurricane reconnaissance. Today that application is fully Web 2.0 based on the CakePHP framework with an integrated Wordpress blog. The site updates automatically when storms develop displaying such information as wind fields and forecast points on an interactive Google Map. The website is expected to fully expand by the hurricane season, 2009.
