SUDBURY, Monday, April 11, 2011— Forest & Lawn announced today it has signed an agreement with Grasshopper Solar Corporation of Toronto to become the official reseller of their turn-key engineered solar systems in Northern Ontario.
Forest & Lawn, Sudbury’s premier provider of outdoor lawn care and forestry equipment said the partnership was a strategic fit that will allow Northern Ontario residents access to the best solar equipment in the province.“After considerable research we concluded that Grasshopper Solar far exceeds its competitors in terms of delivering the highest rates of return to families and businesses looking to invest in solar systems,” said Chris Laking, owner of Forest & Lawn. “As the official reseller of Grasshopper Solar systems in Northern Ontario, we will now be able to assist individuals looking to participate in the Feed In Tariff program selling power back to the government and seeing returns as high as $12,000 per year.”
Grasshopper Solar, the first and largest Canadian Company to deliver turnkey solar power solutions for the Ontario Power Authority microFIT program was excited about the opportunity to work with such a well established company to better reach their Northern Ontario customers. “As we evaluated our expansion strategy, it was clear that partnering with Chris Laking, who has run numerous businesses in the Sudbury area for over 30 years, was a great fit,” said Dan Beresford, Vice President of Grasshopper Solar. “Aside from his business background Chris has been an early adopter of solar power since the 1990’s.
