Yuvee, Inc. releases a Catalog of Mobile Device Innovations for powering “what’s next” after the current generation of cookie-cutter smartphones and tablets. WEBWIRE – Tuesday, September 11, 2012 Yuvee released a Catalog of Mobile Device Innovations. The Catalog provides an indexed, image-based view of Yuvee’s multiple innovations for next generation devices, answering “what’s next” in mobile and converged device designs after the current generation of cookie-cutter smartphones (minor variations on rectangular cases surfaced with flat glass). Yuvee has branded one of its advanced user interface technologies under the name “NeoKeys.” The Catalog shows in images how the NeoKeys innovation quite literally creates an entirely new dimension to the user experience for apps and the Web, and offers a leap-frog advance in the design of mobile devices over what is available now. The Catalog also includes a suite of other user-facing innovations developed by Yuvee. These dramatically increase the richness of the mobile and converged device user experience. They include: (1) a detachable, mobile jumpdrive joystick, and (2) multi-gesture, tactile key technology for replacing standard direct press mechanical keys with tactile keys that recognize multiple gestures (and that are easier and cheaper to manufacture and integrate into peripherals and devices than mechanical keys). Tim Higginson, founder of Yuvee, says: “The next leader in the technology industry will come from a company that boldly innovates in the user interface to create an entirely new and richer dimension to the user experience in mobile and converged devices. Our Catalog of Mobile Device Innovations gives the roadmap to achieve this.” Yuvee’s innovations are covered by a global issued and pending patent portfolio. The importance of patent-protected, user-facing innovations cannot be understated. For instance, user-facing innovation is what drove Apple’s iPod with its list-oriented clickwheel user interface and iTunes integration, setting the stage for the iPhone with its multi-context touchscreen user interface and app store integration. Market share is won with user-facing innovation, and lost without it. Apple’s recent patent win over Samsung underscores the importance of backing user-facing innovations with a patent portfolio.
