  • St Peter’s Primary and Nursery Buckie, Scotland
  • Our school is in Buckie, Scotland
  • Information
    • Our school is in a coastal town called Buckie in the North East of Scotland
    • There are 35 pupils in the school and 60 children attend the nursery
    • There are 5 teachers in our school, 4 nursery nurses, 3 classroom assistants and 1 janitor
    • Our school is a Catholic school

    • Our head teacher is Mrs Murray. She will be retiring in the October holidays
    • Mrs Mather teaches P4 – 7
    • Mrs Simmers and Miss McManus teach P1-3
    • Mrs Reid teaches in the nursery

    • P1 is our biggest class with 11 pupils
    • P4 is our smallest class with only 2 pupils
    • We all work together to build community in our school
  • Curriculum
    • In Scotland, we are beginning to work with a
    • new curriculum called the Curriculum for
    • Excellence. The main aim of this is to help
    • our children become:
    • Confident individuals
    • Successful learners
    • Responsible citizens
    • Effective contributors
  • Active learning
    • We believe that it is important for pupils to be motivated and happy in school. We try to make our lessons active and fun and not to rely to much on text books. We challenge our children to work together to promote quality learning.

    • We are linked to St Peter’s church in Buckie
    • Our priest is called Father Gerry
    • The church is just beside our school
  • Buckie
    • 8000 people live in Buckie
    • The main employments in Buckie are fishing, farming and factory work
    • Locally we have a library, swimming pool and lots of parks including a skate park
    • There are 3 primary schools in Buckie; ours is the smallest
    • There is 1 high school in Buckie where most of our pupils go

    • We are looking forward to getting to know all of our partner schools!
