What are eAudiobooks? <ul><li>Digital versions of audiobooks that are available through the Internet </li></ul><ul><li>Can be played through Windows Media player, NetLibrary Media Center, or iTunes </li></ul><ul><li>Can be played on an MP3 or iPod </li></ul><ul><li>Can be checked out for 3 weeks and renewed once </li></ul><ul><li>Can check out up to 10 at a time </li></ul>

Do I need special equipment? <ul><li>Use one of the following applications for downloading eAudiobooks and listening to them on your computer or compatible portable device: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>NetLibrary Media Center (for eAudiobooks in protected WMA or MP3 format) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Windows Media Player 9.0-11.0 (for eAudiobooks in protected WMA or MP3 format) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>iTunes 8.0-8.2 (for eAudiobooks in MP3 format only) </li></ul></ul><ul><li>An account with NetLibrary </li></ul><ul><li>Optional: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Portable listening device: MP3 or iPod </li></ul></ul>

How do I get an account with NetLibrary? <ul><li>You must be in Hackley Public Library to set up an account </li></ul><ul><li>From the NetLibrary site: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on “Create Free Account” in the upper right hand corner </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Fill in all the fields </li></ul></ul><ul><li>From the Catalog </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on the title of an eAudiobook to get the full record </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on the link in the “Connect to” box </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Follow directions above </li></ul></ul>

Portable Listening Devices <ul><li>You can listen to eAudiobooks on a wide range of portable listening devices, including portable music players and portable media centers from Apple, Creative Labs, Samsung, Toshiba, and other manufacturers. </li></ul><ul><li>To have an optimal experience when listening to an eAudiobook, it is recommended that you select devices that support features such as bookmarking and full time stamping and have a storage capacity of at least 1GB, since the average CD quality eAudiobook file size is 140 MB. </li></ul><ul><li>Please note: not all devices will support all NetLibrary eAudiobook file formats . </li></ul><ul><li>Supported Devices </li></ul>
