What SharePoint Can Not Do <ul><li>Substitute the convenience of Outlook </li></ul><ul><li>Limited video/photo displaying capabilities </li></ul><ul><li>Our SharePoint setup cannot be accessible by non faculty/staff users (CIU and BLS). To access SharePoint, users will need their network login. </li></ul><ul><li>SharePoint cannot be accessed from off campus (only exception are remote VPN users). </li></ul>IT Services Open Forum

Importance of SharePoint Site Coordinator in your department <ul><li>Someone who can coordinate and make all SharePoint permission changes in your department and delegate SharePoint responsibilities in your department </li></ul><ul><li>Someone who can attend our follow-up/feedback sessions until December 08 </li></ul><ul><li>Any department wishing to have a SharePoint site for their use should designate a SharePoint Site Coordinator (SSC) and have them contact the help desk requesting a SharePoint site for their department. The IT Technical Trainer & Liaison will work with the SharePoint Lead to establish a department site and get them started with the basic design via training and additional resources </li></ul><ul><li>NOTE: Due to the time it takes to modify and maintain many sites, IT is unable to build sites or maintain permissions for departments. </li></ul>IT Services Open Forum

Bugs We Are Aware Of IT Services Open Forum <ul><li>“ Remember Password” feature does not work </li></ul><ul><li>We have stabilized login issues, but in the initial testing phase we uncovered several problems with consistent login. Our recommendation is using IE instead of FireFox and making sure you use the “CIU” prefix in front of your username when logging in. </li></ul>
