    • Using the GALE Online Databases research @ the ecd library
    • GALE CENGAGE
      • GALE CENGAGE is a collection of online databases of magazines, newspapers & reference books
      • Access is available from school or home; see Mr. Thomson for home-use passwords
      • Watch this slide show to learn how to use it:
    • Go to the Drury Library Site: http:// ecd.hdsb.ca /library
      • … and click on “Research”
    • Use the pull-down menu
      • Select “I want to find articles online…”
    • Select GALE CENGAGE
      • … and click “GO”
    • Select database(s)
      • Check one or more depending upon
      • your research topic, then click on “Continue”
    • Select a search type
      • Perform a Basic ( keyword ) search or
      • Subject Guide search
    • Subject Search:
      • Check the “Limiters” (eg: full text, images, etc.) to be sure you are searching for what you want
      • Enter
      • subject
      • terms in
      • “ Find” box
      • and click
      • “ Search”
    • Subject Search:
      • Click on the relevant Subject Terms
    • Subject Search:
      • Look at number of articles & sources
      • Choose any additional limiters to focus results
      • Click on title
      • to view article
    • Keyword Search:
      • Select database(s)
    • Keyword Search:
      • Click on “Basic Search”
      • Select “Keyword;” enter search terms in
      • “ Find” box; click on “Search”
    • Keyword Search:
      • Look at number of articles & sources
      • Choose any additional limiters to focus results
      • Click on
      • title to
      • view
      • article
    • Repeat!
      • Be sure to try several searches with different subjects, keywords and keyword combinations until you find what you need!
