We started this project by setting up a paper with two main ideas for the prompt:Choose an animal that would make the best class pet. Now explain why that animal wouldmake a great class pet. As you can see beneath each main idea are two WSADK’s for each of our two anecdotes – which are stories that prove the main idea.
Here’s an example of what those WSAK plans should look like, when you’re done youshould have four of these just like the following slide:
Next, we take each WSADK plan and, on the back of that same paper, write it out as aparagraph starting with the main idea. When you’re done you should have two main ideaseach supported by two anecdotes like the following slide:
Finally, students will use a lined piece of paper to write out a focus statement, copydown their two main ideas with anecdotes, and write a conclusion to finish out theiressay.
A particular slide catching your eye?
Clipping is a handy way to collect important slides you want to go back to later.
