  • 2. 3Q, FY 2010 ; Financial Summary Large increases in both sales and profitsSales of new products released in August 2010 have been growing steadily.Various cost reduction measures have been implemented in accordancewith V Plan 2017.Domestic housing equipment business:- Remodeling: *Increase of 7% in sales and 90% in operating profit in the term from October through December. *The number of showroom visitors increased from last year and total sales for the year by the end of the third quarter increased by 5% from last year.- New housing:*Due to the recovery of the detached house market, sales increased from last year by 4% during the quarter from October through December, resulting in a year-on-year decrease of 8% in cumulative sales.- 6% year-on-year increase in restroom products sales; sales of all 4.8-liter water-saving toilet models released in August are increasing.Overseas housing equipment business:- United States: Sales have recovered to last year’s level during the most recent quarter. However, total annual sales decreased by 7% from last year as a result of the strong yen.- China: Demand continues to be strong in large urban areas, with a year-on-year increase of 23% in sales and 49% in operating profit.New domain business:- 13% year-on-year sales increase as a result of the expansion of the ceramics business. 2
