Wednesday, April 28, 2010 AE's Composition Panel is similar to the stage. It's where you see the things you're working on/preview/etc. More options. **anything in the workspace outside the Comp window's image area does not render as pixels. Very different from Flash.

Wednesday, April 28, 2010 Pre-comps in AE are similar to movie clips or graphic clips in Flash. They are nested timelines, but the amount of control you can have over them with scripting and such is much different.

Wednesday, April 28, 2010 Both applications have motion pre-sets and effects. AE has a whole lot more effects built in (and you can buy plug-ins) Flash can have a whole lot of effects too, but generally more advanced ones are code- based.

Fun Fact: Keyframe used to be drawn by the lead animator (the major poses) and an assistant would draw the inbetweens.
