    • 1. Downloading Apps and Books on the iPad A ‘How to do stuff with iPads’ tutorial
    • 2. Open the App Store
    • 3. Join your WiFi if necessary
    • 4. Close the Apple Apps window if it comes up
    • 5. If the App Store shows ‘Updates’, tap ‘Featured’
    • 6. Swipe up to go down - tap ‘Great Free Apps’
    • 7. Have a look around - then tap ‘Search Store’
    • 8. Type Google - choose ‘Google Search’
    • 9. Tap ‘Free’ then tap ‘Install’
    • 10. Tap ‘Create New Apple ID’
    • 11. Confirm Country
    • 12. Agree to Terms and Conditions
    • 13. Enter your email address If you don’t have an emailaddress follow the steps in the following 5 slides
    • 14. To create an email address - tap Safari
    • 15. Google your way to Gmail -then tap ‘Create An Account’
    • 16. Prove you are not a robot!
    • 17. Complete your profile - tap ‘Continue’
    • 18. This screen means you have a Gmail address!
    • 19. If you have just created a new email address repeat the steps you took to download the free app and enter your email address You will need to create another password -this may be different to your email password
    • 20. Enter the security information
    • 21. Enter your date of birth
    • 22. At ‘Billing Information’ - choose ‘None’ You can change this later
    • 23. Complete the billing address
    • 24. Verify your account as follows
    • 25. To verify in Safari - goto your Gmail account
    • 26. To verify in Mail, tap the Mail app
    • 27. Choose Gmail
    • 28. Enter your details - use your Gmailpassword, not your iTunes password!
    • 29. Choose settings and tap ‘Save’
    • 30. In Mail select the email from Apple and click the ‘Verify Now’ link
    • 31. Verify your Apple ID
    • 32. Tap ‘Return to the Store’
    • 33. Install the App
    • 34. What about paid-for apps?
    • 35. Try and download one
    • 36. You will be prompted to enter your payment information
    • 37. Download and openthe free iBooks app The shelf will be empty
    • 38. To get some books - tap ‘Store’
    • 39. Swipe down and tap ‘Free Books’
    • 40. Have a look around and choose one
    • 41. Tap ‘Get Book’
    • 42. It will download to the bookshelf
