  • 8. RELIEF • Most of the territory does not exceed 200 meters. • There aren’t large mountain ranges, but there are mountain regions and other regions with a glacial relief. • The relief is structured around two important ancient massifs: the Caledonian (North and West) and Hercynian (South and East).
  • 9. LANDSCAPE• There are many ecosystems such as temperate forests, swamps and marshes. The oak, elm, beech, ash, pine and birch are some of the most common trees in British forests. • The most abundant mammals in the country include foxes, rabbits, deer, hedgehogs, mice, weasels and shrews. There are few specimens of reptiles and amphibians. • The biggest river is the Thames which is the habitat of several species of fish and waterfowl.
  • 10. CLIMATE • U.K. has got a continental climate with abundant rainfall throughout the year. Temperature varies with the seasons but it isn't below -10º and it's not above 35º. LONDON 0 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 J F M A M J J A S O N D PRECIPITATION 0 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 TEMPERATURE
