  2. 2. Intro.<br />Began after World War II. It affected the entire world and it was not actually fought with weapons and that is why it was called a cold war. It was meant to dominate national affairs for decades and many major crises were occurred. The growing weapons for mass destruction were the main thing people were worried about.<br />

  4. 4. Who!?<br />Joseph Stalin- Lead the soviet union as Lenin's Successor. He wanted the soviet union to take control. So he built up the economy and military. He caused many deaths from starvation and over working. Even though the people didn’t believe in the politics. He came up with the Five Year Plan. He had 3 different Five Year Plans.<br />John F Kennedy- 35th president of the untied states and was active during the cold war. <br />Mikhail Gorbachev- Leader of the USSR at the end of the cold war<br />Harry S Truman- Was the US President during the beginning of the cold war.<br />

Stalin of USSR refused it for Eastern Europe.<br />1949- NATO established; USSR exploded her first “A”- bomb; China becomes communist.<br />1950- Korean War started.<br />1955- Warsaw Pact created. “Peaceful coexistence” called for.<br />1961- Military aid sent to Vietnam by USA for the first time. Berlin Wall built. <br />1962- Cuban Missile Crisis. <br />1986- Meeting in Iceland between USSR (Gorbachev) and USA (Reagan).<br />1987- INF Treaty signed. <br />1989- Berlin Wall falls <br />1990- Germany reunited.<br />1991- End of The Soviet Union and Cold War ends.<br />
