    1. Citing a Britannica Article in NoodleTools Creekview High School Media Center, 2009-10 1. Choose “online database” from the dropdown menu and press “Create Citation” 2. At the next screen, choose “reference source” and “next” 3. At the next screen, do not change the first two choices; leave the radio buttons at the pre-selected choice. For the question, “Information about the online retrieval of this source”, please select “NO”. 4. Enter the author of the article (if indicated---usually at the end of the article, or you can click on the MLA citation option to see if an author is included). 5. Enter the title of the article 6. The British spelling of the database is different from the American English spelling we use. Please type this in for the name of the database: Encyclopaedia Britannica Online School Edition 7. Enter 2009 for the copyright date. 8. Click on “cite this article” at the top of the page in the Britannica article; you will see an entry with the correct URL to paste into the URL box. 9. Leave all other fields empty. 10. Check your citation for MLA style errors; if you get suggested changes from the wizard, ask your teacher or a librarian for assistance. 11. Generate the citation.
