  3. 3. Generic Mestinon Tablets Active Ingredient The active pharmaceutical ingredient contained in Generic Mestinon (Distinon Tablets) is Pyridostigmine Bromide. Generic Mestinon Tablets Recommended Adult Dosage Treatment of Myasthenia Gravis: The recommended initial dosage for adults is 30 to 120 mg by mouth are given at intervals throughout the day when maximum strength is needed (for example on rising and before meal times). Generic Mestinon Tablets Warnings And Precautions ➔Hypersensitivity reactions may occur in susceptible individuals. ➔Extreme caution is required when administering Generic Mestinon to patients with bronchial asthma. ➔Care should be taken in patients with bradycardia, recent coronary occlusion, hypotension, vagotonia, epilepsy or Parkinsonism. ➔There is no evidence to suggest that Generic Mestinon has any special effects in the elderly. Generic Mestinon Tablets Warnings And Precautions ➔Generic Mestinon is mainly excreted unchanged by the kidney, therefore lower doses may be required in patients with renal disease and treatment should be based on titration of drug dosage to effect. ➔Generic Mestinon should not be given during cyclopropane or halothane anaesthesia; however, it may be used after withdrawal of these agents. © The Swiss Pharmacy, Geneva Switzerland

Generic Mestinon Tablets Overdose Symptoms Signs of overdosage due to muscarinic effects may include abdominal cramps, increased peristalsis, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting, increased bronchial secretions, salivation, diaphoresis and miosis. nicotinic effects consist of muscular cramps, fasciculations and general weakness.   15. 15. Generic Mestinon Tablets Overdose Treatment All patients suspected of having taken an overdose should be admitted to a hospital as soon as possible. Artificial ventilation should be instituted if respiration is severely depressed.
