  3. 3. Canesten Clotrimazole Cream Active Ingredient The active ingredient present in Canesten Clotrimazole Cream is Clotrimazole. It is available in tubes of 15 grams.   5. 5. Canesten Clotrimazole Cream Duration of Therapy The duration of therapy varies and depends on the extent and localization of the disease. Clinical improvement with relief of pruritus usually occurs within the first week of treatment. Tinea infections require approximately 3 to 4 weeks of therapy; in candidiasis, 1 to 2 weeks treatment is often adequate.
